Textile Tuesday...

Bunnies, flowers and adorable toadstools. What's not to love? These beautiful fabrics are due to arrive in stores the end of this month. Bonnie Christine is the artist, and the collections is called "Forest Floor." They are manufactured by Art Gallery Fabrics. I want to live in this magical forest!

A new addition...

This week we welcomed a new addition to our family. His name is "Beau." Beau means "handsome" in French. I think he's aptly named.

He's 9 weeks old, and we're not altogether sure of his lineage. In fact the vet and some others from the rescue organization think that his "mother" might have been a substitute. {Sometimes in rescue situations, it's any port in the storm.} We don't know, but he and his sister certainly don't look much like their black and white terrier mix mother.

We brought him home on Tuesday, and we're in love. Who wouldn't be?

This little guy is going to take up a lot of my spare time for the next few months. He's an all time job at the moment. He's still missing his sibling, so I'm giving him a lot of extra love and attention. He's won my husband's heart too...

He's a bit of a rascal when he's awake, and then he drops like the dead and takes a nap...

He's already captured my heart. I found him through the website "Adopt a Pet." It's a great site where you can look for pets in the area you live. Rescue organizations of all kinds post pets that are available, when you find a possible match, you contact the particular organization that houses the pet you'd like. We adopted Beau through the organization "Paws and People Rescue" in Denver. It was a wonderfully smooth process.

I might not be doing quite as much sewing in the next few months, but I've got a really good excuse!

Textile Tuesday...

These luscious fabrics should be available in April 2016. They are the creation of Katarina Roccella for Art Gallery Fabrics. The collection is aptly called "Lavish."

Another Baby Bib...

Here's another version of the cute baby bib I posted about earlier this week. The pattern and tutorial are on Nana Company.

I think this is a really cute pattern. You can whip up these bibs within minutes and use scraps of fabric or fat quarters.

It would be a wonderful gift, paired with a burp cloth and a Dwipe {diaper/wet wipes clutch}.

I embellished this bib with ruffles and a flowery button and used soft terry cloth for the back...

Textile Tuesday -- Upholstery Fabrics...

I'm taking a different bent on the fabrics I'm presenting on Textile Tuesday today. The other day I found a fabulous resource for home decor fabrics, namely, Lacefield Designs. Unfortunately, they don't have a store in Colorado (store locator), but it really doesn't matter because you can order their luscious fabrics online. Here's an example of some of their beautiful fabrics.

I love every one of those fabrics. L.O.V.E. I've been wandering through my house trying to figure out what I can disassemble, so I can recover it with one of those beauties! Then I'd love to add a couple of throw pillows out of two more of the fabrics!

Click here to check out all their upholstery fabrics.

Baby Girl Bib...

Sometimes my calendar is crammed with events, and sometimes, like the last few weeks, I have more leisure time. I'm grateful. I love being able to catch up on a few projects I've been looking forward to completing. I don't know about you, but I am an avid Pinterest participant, but it seems like I rarely get around to making any of the projects I pin! Well, the other day I decided to do something about that. I'd pinned a darling baby bib, and I wanted to try out the pattern...

{There's nothing like using freshly fallen snow as a backdrop for your photos!}

The pattern and tutorial for this cute bib is found on the blog, Nana Company. It's a ruffley bib -- much like one I designed and made before, but this bib is smaller in dimensions, so I think it would be perfect for a baby 0 - 4 months.

It's sweet, isn't it? I love the pretty ruffles,

...and the cute little patch.

I think I'll have to make a few more this week!

Textile Tuesday...

This last week we got the happy news that our son and his wife are expecting a daughter the end of June. We are, of course, over the moon with excitement and joy. While talking to the little mother this week, she mentioned that she was going to be making a quilt for the nursery. I asked what colors she's chosen and she said, "shades of peach and salmon, gray, gold, and, perhaps, a hint of mint." Yummy -- love those luscious colors. Yesterday I came upon a blog post announcing Sew Caroline's newest collection for Art Gallery Fabrics, called Chalk & Paint, due to be released in stores this month!

Today I'll feature a few of these beautiful fabrics on Textile Tuesday. I may have to snatch up a few of these gorgeous prints to make a little something for our baby granddaughter...

Wishing you a cheerful Tuesday!

Snappy Bags for Valentine's Day...

I love the combination of a cold, snowy day and a stash of fabric. My poor little bunny is feeling the effects...

Last week I was in California, so the snow is a bit of a jolt to my system as well, but that makes it a good day to hunker down and get a little sewing done. Two weeks ago I spent some time making some Snappy Bags for the grands for Valentine's Day. {If you'd like the tutorial, go here.} These little snappy bags are perfect for hiding Valentine chocolates, a gift card, or a dollar or two. Here are a few I've created already...

I can't wait to fill them with goodies and send them off.
Back to my sewing machine...!
