I'm getting ahead of myself. Let's start at the beginning. About a month ago I created an iPad Case...
My family room has lots of color -- bright orange, rusty red, moss green, golden hues, a pinch of turquoise and a lot of dark chocolate brown in the form of two leather sofas. You're probably wondering how all those colors could go together. It's easy when you have this 5'x8' rug nestled between the sofas...
I found some coordinating fabrics in my stash and went to work sewing alternating strips of colorful fabric and muslin. I then used my rotary cutter to cut across the sewn strips to produce a colorful band of fabric!
Those bands of fabric were framed with a soft white flannel and more muslin. I love how the white flannel plays against the earthy muslin and bright colors of the cotton fabrics. Delicious!
I finished off the back of the pillows with more muslin and a zipper...
(Side note: If you've never been to Colorado, you've missed out on the bluest of blue skies. It's 60 degrees today. Gorgeous! The only thing missing is green leaves. Those will arrive in the next couple of months.)
Love this perky pillow and its counterpart that I'll be posting about next week...
Hope you're having a sun-filled day!

Ahh...I absolutely LOVE this pillow!!
Great pillow! I never would have thought to use the white flannel, but it sure is wonderful. You are right - the weather and blue skies here in Colorado are glorious right now. Sally
Great pillow, I love the colorful inserts. Glad you are having warm weather, we are stuck in a cold front that seems to keep coming back over and over:-)
Beautiful! It is so fresh and crisp and your workmanship is wonderful!
Love that pillow!!! I will do a copy of it.
We have son who lives in Co. & just yesterday they sent pics of the fabulous blue sky. We will be there sometime this month.... Season passes in Summit county : )
I love how your seams are so precise, and clean. Your designs are always so professional.

Nice Kindle case, too, btw. *smile*
Lovely pillows - you always amaze me!

I could never sew this neat. Your work is beautiful !
People love my iPad cover! It looks great on the pillow too. Such a pretty technique.
Oh my stars...I am soooo in love with this!!! This is Heather stopping by from WhipperBerry. First off, I grew-up in Littleton so when I saw you were a Denver Gal I know we had a connection. Second I LOVE your stuff. I would love to do a product review and feature of your shop on WhipperBerry sometime. Email me if you are interested!

This pillow is beautiful! Thanks for linking up!
Stunning! You are truly talented!! The color palettes in each are wonderful in their own ways. I'm off to check out your etsy shop!
Will you be listing these or similar items in your etsy shop?
I don't think I will be listing these pillows (or like ones) in my Etsy. They are actually pretty time consuming, so I think I would have to list them at too high a price for them to sell well. Thanks for asking. -Suzanne
Gorgeous! I love the colors that you chose. I have many of the same in my front room. I think maybe I'll have to come and steal that pillow!
I really like how this pillow has just a little color, but is still very interesting to look at. Lovely construction, too. Saw you on CSI Project - - thanks for sharing!
Gorgeous pillow! (I'm a new follower!)

I did one just like this for a Sew Mama Sew tutorial. The flannel and natural colors are made for each other. Super cute with the fall colors!
