Ravishing Ranunculus
The other day I was hurrying into a store when I my eyes lit on some gorgeous Ranunculus lazing in the warmth of the afternoon sun. I love Ranunculus. Their flashy colors are what draw your eye, but I love their multiple layers of delicate, tissue-paper-thin petals. God's handiwork at its best. I picked up four and am going to plant them this afternoon. I may have to go back and get some more...

Suzanne, What beautiful blooms! Love the colors. I posted late so you posted on last weeks Bloomin' Tuesday. I moved you to this week. Didn't want you to think you were going crazy when you went back to see the new posts! lol!
Forgive my ignorance, but are these roses or some type of peony? Obviously, I grow neither!
Whatever they are, they are gorgeous!
Hi Suzanne! Your ranunculus are just gorgeous. Love that bright yellow - I thought it was a rose at first. Very pretty. Have a wonderful spring!
Hugs and blessings, Beth
These are neither roses or peonies -- they are ranunculus! Ranunculus are their own species -- and grown from a bulb or more correctly "tuber".
I love ranunculus too. This is the first year in a few that I did not plant any bulbs, sigh. I actually had two return from last year. I'll just enjoy yours.
Gorgeous blooms!
So pretty, the colors are gorgeous! We still are waiting for green grass here in Alberta!! Can't wait to get out to the nursery for bedding plants and get my pots filled with flowers.
Absolutely beautiful! :)
Those are some of my favorite too! The bulbs we've have for the last few years are kaput. I may have to try these next.
wow! I love your blooming tuesday pics!

happy tuesday to ya! (lol, now that it's almost over)

Happy to find your blog today.
So wonderful your pictures!
I love Ranunculus, too. As you said, their multiple layers attract me!!!
Thank you for sharing:)
Those are beautiful! I wonder if they grow here?? Thank you for linking up to Garden Tuesday!
Hi Suzanne,
You picked out four stunning Ranunculus. They will be a gorgeous addition to your garden.
Wow they are beautiful...I envy your ability to plant such beauty at this time of year...we aren't to far off up here in Kamloops, BC, Canada...the grass is just starting to come up green and some tulips are about 2 inches long...I love having 4 seasons but some days I wish it was just 1.
