Recipe for Success!

Scroll down for the Wristlet Give Away... You only have one more day to sign up for the contest!

It took four attempts, but I finally got the recipe right. A few days ago I embarked on the creation of a new clutch pattern. Four experiments later the pattern is just right. I love the earthy, textured feel of this wristlet.

On my fourth attempt I changed the muslin fabric to the bottom of the wristlet.

That change made all the difference in the world! Love the natural feel of this little clutch.

This one will make it to my Etsy later today.

That's the good news. The bad news is that earlier today my sewing machine stopped working properly. I took it to my favorite go to place for repairs and explained to the technician that it was making a loud "gluckit" sound. He stared at me with a blank expression. (It's frustrating trying to communicate with people who don't have a snippet of imagination.) When his wife came in the room -- she's the one that usually isolates the problem -- and I explained the problem for the second time, she nodded her head, lifted her eyebrows, and said "Ah, yes."

I'm hopeful they will be able to correct the problem, but in the meantime -- at least a week, I'm told -- I'm machineless. It's a helpless feeling when I've got a new wristlet pattern to try out, a new little girl tote pattern swimming around in my head, and some bedroom curtains to make.

I keep trying keep this little snafu in perspective. I know it's not the end of the world. Not important at all in the grand scheme of things. It's just that without that machine I have no good excuse not to do my spring cleaning. (I knew you would understand.)

I really like the look of this one. It looks more durable too with the muslin on the bottom. But what do I know, I'm not a sewing type of person. Sorry about your machine, that's the pits! Luckily the lady showed up in time to know what you were talking about. Happy St. Patrick's!

I love muslin and agree, this wristlet is very cute and "earthy". You could wear it with a cute summer dress, or with jeans and a tee. This one is my favorite so far, but they are all so pretty!!!

Very Cute wrist-let! The colors speak to me! Sorry about or machine. What kind do you have?? I just upgraded to a low model Bernina and am loving it already!

The is an ADORABLE little clutch, Suzanne!!! I thought of you today at Micheals, when I saw fabric roses in the jewelry isle. The edges were not burned and did not curl, like yours do! I thought there would be no way you would have anything to do with those in the store. There is no comparison...yours are just stunning!
Sorry about your ailing machine. Good luck with the cleaning projects!!! :)

I love your clutch! The flower is perfect, and adds such a feminine touch. So sorry about your machine, I hope it gets back to you very soon.

I added myself as a follower too! Thanks for the giveaway ;-)

Very nice! I love it! Too bad about your machine, I too would be lost, but would choose to pick up paint brushes (decorative ones) or knitting needles or crochet hooks in lieu of sponges, mops and a sweeper. Yuck!
