Most of you were correct when you guessed that our vacation destination

specifically Corolla Beach! 

The Outer Banks was such a perfect spot for our family to get together. 

The sun was warm, the breezes cool, the water clear and the company perfect.

It really is an ideal vacation spot for family reunions --
as many of you already know and we were fortunate enough to discover!

A Guessing Game and Give Away . . .

My blog has been sadly neglected for about two weeks now, but it was all for a very good reason. Memorial Day Weekend and the week following found my husband and I vacationing with six of our children and their families. We had a fabulous time. We vacationed in a spot we had never before visited.

We played for hours at the most "kid friendly" beach ever, which was a block away from where we stayed.

We swam for hours in the backyard pool of the home we rented.

We stayed at this fabulous home that easily accommodated our big family.

We took a tour along the beach in these open-air trucks...

... and saw wild horses whose ancestors were transported to this area by the Spaniards more than 400 years ago.

We climbed to the top of this beautiful lighthouse,

and we toured this museum.

The question is...

Etsy Give Away Winner...

My husband has whisked me off to an undisclosed location.

Etsy Give Away!

Labor Day weekend found my husband and I vacationing with my oldest son and his family. We had a lovely time. Here are some of the sights we saw and some things we did:

• 6 days with nuthin' but grandkids and their parents (the best part)
• traveled up a mountain in an aerial tram
• rode a chairlift and came back down on an alpine slide
• hiked up and through mountains to a beautiful waterfall
• visited an aquarium
• shopped in a long row of gift shops
• experienced a downpour of rain the likes of which I have never seen or heard
• enjoyed these beautiful views from our cabin

• our cabin was on the perimeter of a national forest
• black bears are a big deal in these here parts!
