Gaining...

Been baking a lot lately...

Being around this many sweets is having an effect on me.

I realize there shouldn't be a correlation between these kinds of cupcakes
and the kind that add serious calories to your diet.

These cupcakes shouldn't be capable of spoiling your appetite
for less caloric, more nutritious items.

Nevertheless...

Tell that to my bathroom scale.

These (and more) cupcakes are cooling in my Etsy.

Been baking...

Yesterday I fired up the oven in the morning and didn't turn it off until late last night. I baked all day long and by the end of the day, here's what I had to show for myself...

...a half dozen cupcakes in assorted delicious flavors -- lime, cherry, strawberry, and sherbert! These little cupcake totes look good enough to eat!

With Easter just around the corner, I thought I'd better bake up a couple of batches of my Lil' Girl Cupcake Totes.

Last year they became very popular during Easter time because the Easter bunny used them as Easter baskets for many a little girl!

They make a cute basket! Just put a little "grass" in the bottom and then fill with plastic eggs, jelly beans and a chocolate bunny or two!

Then when the jelly beans & chocolate bunnies are a distant memory, your lil' girl will still have a purse for all her valuables...

It doesn't matter what your age, we women need a special place for a little change and some lip gloss!

Did a little baking...

During our stay in California last week, all of my "Lil' Girl Cupcakes" flew out of the store. There must have been a few people that had a hankering for sweets! So I put aside a day last week and did some baking. I love making these little totes. Each one ends up being so unique...

Two more...

Today we have blue skies and warmer temperatures. I don't mean to brag (well, maybe just a little), but there is something about the blue in a Colorado sky that is just spectacular. It's the clearest, purest, cerulean blue you'll ever see. Today is one of those days where there's a cool breeze, the sun is shining, the sky is blue, and flowers are budding -- Mary Englebreit flowers to be exact...

You know, one of those days where you might want to take a break and catch up on some R&R. (Ribbons & Ric-rac) Ahhh, life is good...

My Rainbow of Colors...

Last weekend we had overcast skies with rain showers. It was a little gloomy outside. I look forward to a rainbow on a day like that. There didn't seem to be one in sight, so I thought I'd create my own rainbow of colors. Recently I've purchased a lot of colorful combinations of fabrics for some "cupcakes." Here are three that I made the other day that pack a punch of color. Hope these brighten your day as much as they did mine!

Busy

It's been a busy, fun-filled week. My youngest daughter came home from college a week ago for Spring Break and left this morning. Her time home flew by with Easter Sunday, successful shopping trips, pedicures, and meals out. We had a great time and, needless to say, I didn't get much more than those delectable things done, however, I was able to bake a few cupcakes which currently reside in my Etsy...

Today I've been working on a tote (seriously gorgeous) made from fabric in Amy Butler's line, "Belle." Be still my heart. It's fabulous and I'll post a photo of that creation tomorrow. Sometimes I just want to hug these incredible fabric designers.

I think I mentioned that I sent Cupcake Totes to our granddaughters for Easter. I received a few photos of Zoey this last weekend with her tote. Check out those long, thick eyelashes. I know ladies that pay big money for lashes like those. She doesn't even have to get close when she gives me butterfly kisses! I have scrawny little eyelashes, so I'm fairly certain she didn't get them from my side of the family.

Here she is in her serious, contemplative modeling pose. I think she's plotting out the shopping spree that she's going to take with the wad of money burning a hole in her purse. At least that's what I'd be doing if I was her, and even though she doesn't have my eyelashes, she does take after me in other areas. ;o)

Hungry?

Are you hungry for a little color? Me too! I'm tired of winter browns and gray skies! I needed to add a little color to my life, so I whipped up this little tidbit. I do believe it looks good enough to eat. I made it last week and it's already in my Etsy shop. Love the fun, bright colors of this one!

I also had a little time to make a Hang Up on Saturday night. It's been awhile since I made a momma sized tote, so it felt glorious! Look forward to seeing that one tomorrow...

Been baking...

I've been baking again. Making these cupcakes is lethal to a diet. Seriously. I'm not even kidding. Especially when I'm applying chocolate frosting. I'm packing on the pounds, but when I look at these goodies it makes me feel like it's worth it. They are delectable, aren't they? ;o) These baked goods currently reside in my Etsy shop.

I've been baking...

Thank you so much for your enthusiastic response to my Lil' Girl Cupcake Totes. I really appreciate all your comments! Those of you who know me well know that when I get excited about something I pretty much let everything else in my life fall apart around me (not relationships so much, but they probably suffer a bit too) and I fully concentrate on the thing that is interesting me at that moment. Well, I had the house to myself for a few days this week so I could fully concentrate on baking some cupcakes. Yummy ones. Delicious ones. Even chocolate. Here's a sneak peak at what will be found in my Etsy shop later today...

Here's my two adorable little models (friends of the family)
with their pint size Hang Ups!

Their fee for this modeling job? You guessed it...
their very own Lil' Girl Cupcake Tote delivered later today!

Hey There, Cupcake !

The other day I was in a local fabric shop and came upon a pattern for a little girl's tote. This wasn't just any tote, it was a cupcake tote. I thought it was a cute idea and since I have occasion to make something for little girls (you know those adorable granddaughters I have...) I went ahead and bought the pattern with the intention of bringing it home and whipping up a dozen or so cupcakes. Unfortunately, when I stitched it up, I felt like the dimensions of the pattern were all wrong. Among other things the base of the "cupcake" was rectangular in shape and we all know that a cupcake slants upward. Well, at least the cupcakes I've eaten have angled upward ... and, honestly, I consider myself a bit of an expert.

So, I decided to change the recipe to my liking. I tweaked, and altered, and adjusted adding a little more sugar and spice and a little less flour. I topped it off with a generous dollop of frosting and crowned it with a cherry! Finally, it was a Cupcake I could be proud of...

So, tell me...
Do you think a little girl would find these good enough to eat?
